DHL, GLS and Hermes in one place, keep your own contracts, print labels from one system. Our experience with Sendcloud.
Durstladen
Sendcloud is our recommendation when a store works with several shipping carriers or wants to connect an existing contract. The app brings DHL, GLS, Hermes and other carriers together in one place, and you print labels straight from Sendcloud. It also serves as a bridge when a system has no direct connection to your shipping contract. In our projects it ran reliably.
Shipping gets complicated as soon as more than one carrier is involved. Each has its own portal, its own labels and its own rules. Sendcloud pulls that together: order comes in from Shopify, pick the right carrier, print the label, tracking number goes back to Shopify.
In our case DHL, GLS and Hermes were connected, and label printing in the warehouse ran entirely through Sendcloud. No snags.
If you work with just one carrier and its own Shopify app works well, you don't need Sendcloud. And if a fulfillment provider handles shipping completely, they usually take care of labels themselves. Which apps are really worth it is in our App Diet.
Which carriers work with Sendcloud? The major ones in Germany and Europe. In our case it was DHL, GLS and Hermes.
Can I keep my own DHL contract? Yes. You connect it in Sendcloud and print labels at your rates.
Is Sendcloud worth it for small stores? From the second carrier onwards, usually. With just one carrier, its own app is often enough.
Will you set up Sendcloud for us? Yes, usually as part of a project, including shipping rules and label printing in the warehouse. If you first want to know which apps your store really needs, our Audit is the fastest route.
