A subscription needs its own page, not just a checkbox

Pascal Hippmann · updated October 2026
In short

On lots of product pages, the subscription sits next to the one-time purchase as an option: “Subscribe and save 10%”. That explains the price and interval, but not why anyone should subscribe. So for a food brand, we also designed a dedicated subscription page. It sells the subscription, the product page sells the product.

The request

The brand wanted to strengthen its subscription, with terms of six and twelve months, for home and for the office. Until then, the subscription was just an option on the product page. Anyone who wasn't already convinced overlooked it.

What belongs on a subscription page

  1. The benefit in one sentence. Not “save 10%”, but what changes in everyday life: never run out, always fresh, no thinking required.
  2. The options at a glance. Terms, quantities, price per delivery, side by side and comparable.
  3. Which option suits whom. At home, at the office, as a gift. Each situation with its own recommendation.
  4. The story behind it. Who delivers, where it comes from, why it's worth sticking around.
  5. Clearing up the worries. Cancel, pause, reschedule: how easy is it? Answer that clearly and you remove the biggest hurdle.
  6. A clear close. One path to subscribing, not three.

The product page links to this page, and the subscription page links back to the products. Both have their job.

What you can take away

  • If your subscription is just a checkbox, the actual sales page is missing. A subscription is a bigger decision than a one-time purchase and needs more arguments.
  • Sell the everyday, not the discount. Convenience and reliability convince for longer than a few percent.
  • Make canceling visibly easy. Paradoxical, but it lowers the barrier to signing up.
  • One page for ads and newsletters. A dedicated subscription page is also the best destination for campaigns.

Want your subscription to win more customers? We build the page that sells it.
